Professional Exchange & Capacity Building for Partner Organizations

WIT Oman Partner Organizations and their staff benefit from a variety of professional exchange and capacity building activities.  By participating in Training of Trainer sessions, each Partner Organization enhances its staff capabilities to include instructors qualified to teach Microsoft’s Unlimited Potential classes, as well as facilitating workshops on Professional Development Trainings for Women, and Business Planning for Sustainability.  The WIT Oman Program Manager and Partner Organizations also participate in a variety of Professional Exchange activities, including the following:

  • In January 2007, a Global Team Meeting brought together Program Managers from each of the WIT MENA countries to the United States. The group traveled to San Francisco to meet with IIE and MEPI staff, attend trainings and meet with San Francisco-based women business and non-profit leaders.

  • A Mid-Program Workshop will gather Program Managers and representatives from every Partner Organization. Hosted in one of the six program countries in July, the Workshop will create a forum in which participants can share their experiences and develop strategies on how to further strengthen the ability of women as active members in business, and moreover, in developing a pluralistic society. Specific activities will include a presentation by women leaders in the region, a business plan competition and discussion sessions on Business Planning for Sustainability, Professional Development training, and Women’s Professional Development Networks.
  • National End of Program Conference will be organized by the Omani Women’s Association (OWA).  Representatives from Partner Organizations throughout the country will convene in order to share lessons learned and program accomplishments.  The Conference will provide a forum for Partner Organizations to evaluate their business plan and organizational strategies for moving forward.
