Microsoft Unlimited Potential (UP) Curriculum
WIT Oman Partner Organizations receive support from Microsoft, including the Microsoft Unlimited Potential (UP) curriculum and instructor training. By training instructors from each Partner Organization, Microsoft establishes each organization as a Community Technology Center (CTC). This creates job opportunities for women IT experts to join the program as UP trainers. Each CTC will train a minimum of 100 women during the first year of the program.
The UP curriculum covers 8 topics:
- Computer Fundamentals provides a solid foundation in basic computer concepts and the essentials of hardware, software, operating systems and the Internet.
- Digital Media Fundamentals teaches how to get started with digital media, including digital photography, audio, and video.
- Internet and World Wide Web Fundamentals teaches how to explore the Web, use search engines, work with e-mail, and create Web pages with Microsoft FrontPage®.
- Web Design Fundamentals teaches the complete process of Web page design, from the basics of HTML to strategies for designing and building a complete Web site.
- Word Processing Fundamentals focuses on how to use a word processor to write and revise a variety of personal and business documents, from simple letters and memos to complex documents containing graphics and tables.
- Presentation Fundamentals teaches everything you need to know about putting together persuasive electronic presentations, from creating basic slide shows, to adding graphics, video, and audio for rich multimedia presentations.
- Database Fundamentals introduces the basics of using a relational database to create tables, forms, and reports.
- Spreadsheet Fundamentals teaches the basics of spreadsheet concepts including creating worksheets, editing data, building charts and graphs, and publishing a spreadsheet to the Web.
