Program Overview

Overview

Women in Technology Oman (WIT Oman) is funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) of the U.S. Department of State, managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE) West Coast Center, and implemented in collaboration with partners in Oman.

The WIT Oman program delivers five core activities to Partner Organizations and participants: Professional Development Training, Business Planning for Sustainability, IT Training through Microsoft’s Unlimited Potential (UP) Curriculum, Women’s Professional Development Network, and Professional Exchange and Capacity Building. By partnering with the local Omani organizations, the program will increase the pace of women’s participation in the workforce and strengthen women’s organizations by providing tools to help them achieve their goals.

Acquiring hard skills, especially in the field of Information Technology (IT), is a powerful building block for individuals and organizations. From strengthened positions, both the Partner Organization and participants will be empowered to play an integral role in shaping their country’s future.
